It's plain to see how bad the Chinese output shaft sprocket is machined, hence the need to design a chain tensioner.

Without it the chain would drag on the aluminium case, cutting into the metal. In operation you can't see just how tight and loose the chain is in 180 degrees of output shaft rotation and when both chain and sprocket were new, there was 1 1/4 inch of movement in the tensioner.
